The first spring after meeting my partner, we ventured to Kudanshita to view the night cherry blossoms. On that serene hanami-perfect evening, I was utterly captivated by the ethereal beauty of the blossoms, and I remember telling my partner as if it were yesterday - "Someday I wish to express this profound emotion through art."
Spring symbolizes new life and hope emerging from winter's chill, a season of fresh encounters and farewells. Dusk, with its fleeting interplay of pale light and shadows at day's end, becomes a time of quiet reflection - evoking deep sentiments about the preciousness of each transient moment in life.
In Japanese culture and classical literature, "spring evenings" have long been imbued with special poetic resonance. Through modern sensibilities, I've attempted to capture this ephemeral beauty - soft breezes carrying the fragrance of full blooms, distant insect murmurs and birdsong stimulating the senses - conveying how this fleeting "moment" connects us to the preciousness of finite time.
